Even though the new Facebook algorithm makes organically reaching your audience more difficult – which we discussed in great detail >here< it’s still important to keep your feed updated with new arrivals or new information. Social media is still basic business.

But what if you want to promote your services or product as a Facebook status update, link share, video or photo without targeting your current Facebook followers? Or what if you want to transfer a successful ad with its social media proof of likes, comments and shares to your Facebook business page? This is where the Dark Post comes in.

Organic Post versus Dark Post
An Organic Post is a “normal” Facebook status update, link share, video or photo from your business page that doesn’t depend upon paid distribution/ advertising.

Any time you create a Facebook Ad, it's always created as a Dark Post. While sounding a tad evil, I can reassure you it’s not. Essentially, it's transferring a successful ad with its social media proof of likes, comments and shares to your Facebook business page. Once you’ve tested the ad and it’s received some great engagement with the social media proof of likes, comments and shares from your targeted audience, you can then push it live to your Facebook page, bringing its social proof along with it, to create further organic engagement.
